 St.
Edward Parish was founded in July 1946 by Rev. Armand P. Fortin. Prior to
the construction of the existing Catholic church, religious services were held
in the Derby Line Village Hall and later in the old St. Edward Parish
Hall. The first Mass was celebrated on Holy Thursday, March 26, 1964 in
what is the existing St. Edward Church. St. Edward Church was blessed by
Bishop Robert F. Joyce on April 12, 1964. The new Parish Center was
completed and blessed in 1999. Currently, Rev. Yvon Royer ministers to
approximately 650 families.
