Fr. Michael M Reardon, SDV

Fr. Michael Reardon is a native Vermonter, born in Brattleboro in 1948. After two years at Norwich University he entered the Armed Forces serving in Vietnam as a Helicopter pilot in 1969-70. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army Fr Michael worked first as an aviation consultant before entering into the financial services industry. Receiving the call to Religious Life Fr Michael joined the Society of Divine Vocations in 1989. Educated at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Seton Hall University in New Jersey he was ordained to the Priesthood in February 1999 and immediately sent to the fledgling mission in India where he assumed the positions of Superior, Treasure, Novice Master while overseeing the construction of the community in Thalore, Kerala and establishing the House of Studies in Mulayam. Upon his return to the U.S. Fr Michael was appointed Superior Treasurer and novice master of the Headquarters Community in Florham Park, N.J as well as Chaplain to the Vocationist Sisters. On July 1,2009 Fr Michael became the 16th pastor of Saint Mary Star of the Sea as well as pastor of Saint Edward the Confessor in Derby Line and Saint Benedict Labre in West Charleston.

Fr. Rijo Johnson, SDV

He was born in Trichur, Kerala, India in 1981. He joined the Vocationist Fathers in 1996 and continued his priestly studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary in South Orange, NJ.

He took his perpetual vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience on June 29, 2006. He was ordained as a deacon by Most. Rev. Edgar da Cunha, SDV, DD., auxiliary bishop of Newark and also first bishop of the Vocationist Fathers, on October 13, 2007 at St. Michaels’ Church, Newark, NJ. He was ordained as a priest by Most. Rev. John Myer, Archbishop of Newark on May 24, 2008. His first assignment was as an assistant vicar at St. Michael’s Church, Newark NJ where he was involved in Catechetical ministry of teaching Confirmation Students and RCIA. He is the Coordinator of the Vocationist Magazine of their congregation as well as the web designer of the Vocationist Fathers Website.

He is currently assigned temporarily at St. Mary Star of the Sea in Newport, Saint Edward the Confessor in Derby Line and Saint Benedict Labre in West Charleston until the two Priests from India come and assume their responsibility as parochial vicars.
